Basketball Coaches

CARL MATTEI has 24 years experience coaching Women's Basketball.  He started coaching at the college level - Head Coach Trinity Western University and Colorado Christian University and Associate Head Coach at University of Colorado-Colorado Springs, while completing his Masters Degree in Coaching Administration.  Carl has coached at the adidas All-American camp for 5 years and was named the Director of the adidas Phenom camps in 2008.  He was selected as the only high school coach to join an elite group of WNBA players and NCAA Division I coaches to perform clinics across South Africa in 2008 and 2009.  In 2009, Coach Mattei raised support and donated over 7500 pairs of athletic shoes to South African children.  He is currently the Head Coach at Regis Jesuit HS and was awarded the 5A "Coach of the Year" - 2009.

JOHN NILLEN brings 28 years of professional basketball coaching experience to the Club.  This includes Assistant Coach and Head Scout for the Denver Nuggets, Head Coach in the CBA.  In addition, John was the National Head Coach for Taiwan and coached in 4 World Championships.  He has been with the Mile Hi Magic since its inception coaching one of the top teams and working the Footwork Sessions.

MATT HEMA competed with the New Zealand Olympic team and has coached at Douglas County HS and was the former Varsity Coach at Coronado HS in Colorado Springs.  Matt has been with the Mile Hi Magic for 10 years and has worked the adidas All-American camp for two years.  Coach Hema is currently the JV Head Coach at Regis Jesuit HS.

TAMMY HALL joined the Mile Hi Magic in 2007, working with the younger teams.  She brings with her years of basketball experience at all levels.  Tammy played 4 years of basketball at the University of Washington and University of Portland, winning All West Coast Conference her senior year.  She has coached Division I for 3 years and coached youth for 7 years.

This year, the Magic will be adding other Colorado High School Varsity Head Coaches to the roster.
